The next US President should consider this 10-step modest proposal:
2. Appoint Patrick Fitzgerald or Elliot Spitzer as Attorney General.
3. Declare the 2000 "election" of George W. Bush null and void, as well as all subsequent appointments to the judicial and executive branches (including the military), starting with the Supreme Court, the Justice Department, and the NSA.
4. Issue an executive order returning the Presidential and Vice-Presidential papers of the Reagan, Bush I, Clinton, and Bush II administrations to their rightful owners, the American people.
5. Arrest and try Bush, Cheney, Rumsfeld, Rice, Gonzales, Ashcroft, Wolfowitz, Yoo, et al for treason, violation of US laws pertaining to international treaties, and other high crimes.
6. Apply RICO laws to the Bush and Cheney crime families, as well as the Republican party and affiliated right-wing religious and humanitarian fronts, seizing all assets of these criminal organizations in order to begin paying down our nation's elephantine financial and moral debts.
7. Continue paying down our nation's elephantine financial and moral debts by nationalizing specific oil, news, and military-related companies, beginning with ExxonMobil, Fox News, and Halliburton.
8. After their conviction for treason, violation of US laws pertaining to international treaties, and other high crimes, turn Bush, Cheney, Rumsfeld, Rice, Gonzales, Ashcroft, Wolfowitz, Yoo, et al over to the World Court for investigation of war crimes and crimes against humanity.
9. After their conviction for war crimes and crimes against humanity, return Bush, Cheney, Rumsfeld, Rice, Gonzales, Ashcroft, Wolfowitz, Yoo, et al for life terms at Guantanamo.
10. Rename Reagan National Airport the Carter National Airport and, at the renaming ceremony, announce the reopening of the Iran-Contra investigations, the Watergate hearings, the Army-McCarthy hearings, and the Teapot Dome investigations.
